The concentration of the metal in the rock is recommended for the economic further processing of ores from mining and dross from smelting procedures. Transport and energy costs (e.g. for crushers and mills) can thereby be drastically reduced.

The same is valid for existing slagheaps, e.g. from former copper mines. Whereas in the past a further treatment was not economically viable because of the small metal content, a repeated enrichment of these metal primary commodities with a suitable sorting technique is today worthwhile.

The concentration of the metal containing fraction is also worthwhile for example for the dispersed processing sites for waste incineration slag, in order to minimise the transport costs for a central processing operation.

The INCODECS sorting machines with their highly sensitive “electro – magnetic camera “ are in the position to separate barren from metal-containing rock at high throughput rates and levels of purity.
